| What is PMI? |
| Positive Material Identification (PMI) |
Positive Material Identification (PMI) is where the product itself is tested to determine the type of alloy present. PMI does away with the need to use a paper trail involving mill certificates.
Sampling Services use an XRF analyser for PMI Testing.
XRF testing is fast, safe, non-destructive and non-marking.
Our XRF Analyser is available for On site Testing, Drop In Testing, and Rental.
We can provide documentation to standard BS EN 10204 part 3.1b. |

Huge library of alloys
The XRF analyser used by Sampling Services has a huge library of alloys. The readings obtained by the analyser are compared to the library. The library includes:
- Stainless steel alloys
- Aluminium alloys
- Titanium Alloys
- Gold & precious metal alloys
- Nickel alloys
- Copper alloys
- Low alloy steels
- Nickel alloys
- Zirconium alloys
- Cobalt alloys
